Gold prices climb to highest settlement in 2 weeks

Gold prices climbed Wednesday to settle at their highest in two weeks as a report that the U.S. was reaching out to China to hold a new round of trade talks put pressure on the U.S. dollar. December gold (GCZ8) climbed $8.70, or 0.7%, to settle at $1,210.90 an ounce. That was the highest finish since Aug. 29, but gold fell Thursday to $1203.20
